Meet Gracie, our new Senior Account Executive
Our team is growing quickly, and we’re very pleased to welcome Gracie Brown to the Full Circle team!
Hi Gracie! What are you most looking forward to in your new career with FCC?
I have worked in several marketing positions where my main responsibility was to manage social media accounts and to create content for Instagram and TikTok.
However, I fell in love with PR when I was getting my Master’s degree from the University of Westminster (shoutout to my awesome PR professor, John!) so, I am definitely looking forward to taking my first proper step into the PR world and cannot wait to be part of an established team that I already know I am going to be learning so much from!
What caught my eye immediately about FCC was the Steve Jobs quote on the company’s site about the storyteller being the most powerful person in the world, that really resonated with me as there are many facets to PR that extend beyond the typical media relations element of the job; a successful and impactful story requires approaching a problem or position from a variety of creative and innovative skillsets from throughout the marketing world as a whole.
What has been your favourite job so far?
My favourite job was when I worked at the clothing brand, Anthropologie. Not only was it a fashion brand whose values of creativity and entrepreneurship aligned with my own, but I worked with a team of women who supported and inspired one another on a daily basis (nothing bonds a group quite like waking up at 4am to work a retail shift on Black Friday). My boss, Joanna, gave me confidence to not only pursue my associates degree in fashion merchandising but also listened to my interests and saw my potential therefore often pulling me from the sales floor and allowing me to work with both the merchandising and art departments. In that role I was also fortunate enough to work in one of the only ten stores in the country to assist in launching Anthropologie’s plus-size clothing line.
What are you most passionate about in life, and why?
I am most passionate about traveling and taking adventures. I’ve lived in Iceland for six months and have travelled all throughout the world with both friends and family. My parents raised my siblings and I to have a strong sense of adventure and emphasized the importance of seeing and experiencing different cultures. This winter my friends and I would like to take a trip to Norway to see the Northern Lights.
Not only am I passionate about exploring the world but I also love taking “mini” adventures. I was a nanny for five years for the same family and the lockdowns and closures of playgrounds and museums during the pandemic really pushed my creativity on how to engage three children under the age of seven. So, I began taking the kids on weekly adventures hiking through our local woods and scouting out fallen logs that were sturdy enough for us to use to cross the river. If I can instil a sense of adventure in others around me then I consider that a big win in my book.
I believe that it is important for both the mind and the body to get out of routine and to shake up life a bit. Whether it’s taking big adventures like moving to Iceland or showing the kids I nannied that there’s a bit of magic in discovering new things, there truly isn’t anything that a proper adventure can’t solve.
What’s your secret superpower?
Constantly dropping things but catching them right before they hit the ground
