HDI Global Specialty SE Australia strengths its senior team with two new hires

HDI Global Specialty SE Australia, the specialty lines insurer, has announced the appointments of Anja Dix-Eberhardt as Head of Risk and Compliance, and Nick Newton who joins as Head of Finance & Operations.

Dix-Eberhardt moves from QBE Group where she held senior roles in both Risk Reporting & Systems and Enterprise Risk Management and played a key role in the insurer’s global risk transformation project. She is also a Fellow of both the ANZIF and CII.

Newton joins HDI Global Specialty from 1Cover, where he was Chief Financial Officer. He has over 20 years’ experience in finance and accounting, and is both a Certified Practicing Accountant and CFA charterholder.

Mark Fleiser, General Manager and Head of Branch said: “I’m pleased to be welcoming both Anja Dix-Eberhardt and Nick Newton to the team.”

“Anja will play a key role in supporting our developing branch operation and comes to us with an impressive amount of experience gained both in Australia and globally, having previously worked within the Talanx Group. Anja will be tasked with leading our risk management and compliance activities ensuring that we strive for and achieve best market practices.”

Fleiser added: “Nick joins us as Head of Finance and Operations in what is a further key appointment within our growing branch operation. He has the kind of skills and industry insight from both the insurer and distribution perspective to stand him in very good stead and allow him to quickly add value to the broader finance and accounting function of the team.”

Both Dix-Eberhardt and Newton will be based in Sydney reporting to Mark Fleiser and join with immediate effect.
