HDI Global Specialty SE strengthens aviation team with Canada hire

HDI Global Specialty SE, the specialty lines insurer, has strengthened its aviation team with the appointment of Michael McEwen as Head of Aviation, Canada. McEwen joins HDI Global Specialty from Toronto-based Canadian Aviation Insurance Managers Ltd, and is expected to lead the firm’s entry into the Canadian general aviation market.

This will include the setting up of an aviation underwriting team serving the specialist aviation broker market in Canada. Its core focus will be fixed wing and rotary wing aircraft for commercial, industrial aid, and private risks, and unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

He brings a strong track record in the market with a well-established reputation. As a new player locally, we wanted to bring in a leader who is already well known and respected.
