Century announces liability launch & senior hires
17 October 2016: As part of the firm’s diversification plan Century Underwriting, the specialist commercial managing general agent, has launched a new liability underwriting division and made two senior appointments to support its growth. Tony Collman is appointed to lead the development and growth ofthe division with new opportunities within liability and construction markets. Tony joins from Gresham Underwriting where he was Chief Underwriting Officer.
Tony said: “Maintaining Century’s focus on offering specialist products to regional brokers who require a more bespoke underwriting approach, we will be targeting liability and construction risks that can be written on a stand-alone basis without property coverage if required.”
To support this new underwriting division and the current suite of products, Century has also appointed Steve Gibbons to the new role of Head of Business Development.
Steve’s focus will be on building Century’s profile in the market, developing existing and new broker relationships and supporting the underwriting teams in the profitable growth of their portfolios. He joins from XBroker where he was responsible for Business Development across the UK.
Steve comments “This is an exciting time to join Century. Whilst known in the market for its Motor capabilities, the expansion of the portfolio brings more opportunities for the regional broker market.”
